Let’s talk about Virginia. I didn’t have the best experience on my visit, but that wasn’t Virginia’s fault. The remnants of hurricane were moving through the state and therefore the weather was pretty crappy. That said, I still managed to have a good time, but I know that there is more to see and do than what I did. One day I’ll get back to Virginia and explore more of the state.

When to Visit Virginia

While I’d love to say fall is a great time to visit Virginia, I visited in October and had terrible weather. Still, in general I would recommend looking to travel around this time. The leaves are starting to change colors and that can make for a beautiful view at Shenandoah National Park (and the mountains in general).

Each season has its merits and honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong in any season.

Nearby

While there is plenty to do in Virginia, consider adding on a nearby state, such as West Virginia. Or head south toward North Carolina, South Carolina, or Tennessee.
