Connecticut is part of New England in the northeastern United States. This is a small state, but it packs in a lot over its small area. Whether you come for the scenery or the cities, you’ll find plenty to do in this awesome state.

7 Day New England Itinerary: 5 Great Options

For those with less time, I’ve put together five great itineraries for New England. Each itinerary is exactly one week and focuses on a different region within New England. Which itinerary will you choose?

When to Visit

Connecticut is part of New England and classically, it seems like everyone wants to visit New England during the fall. Don’t get me wrong, the fall colors are beautiful. Plus you have the added bonus of decent weather. However, you may have larger crowds because other people also want to do that classic fall New England Road Trip.

Summer is another very popular time to visit. Expect the largest crowds, the hottest weather, and high prices.

Winters are cold and you’ll want to think twice about some outdoor sights (like Mystic Seaport). It’s still possible to visit, but expect cold temperatures. The benefit is crowds (and prices) can be significantly lower.

Extend Your Trip

Want to keep traveling around the United States? Consider adding on more of New England. Visit Maine, Massachusetts, New York, Rhode Island, or Vermont.
